Frequently Asked Questions...
We've tried to account for the common questions we get, but if you can't find your answer here, just give us a ring. We'd be happy to answer your questions. :)
hOw much does a rental cost?
Our prices fluctuate based on season and where you're going. There is a fixed nightly component and a per mile component over the 100 free miles per night (for motorhomes). Check out our best-in-class pricing page to get the pricing for the time frame you'd like.
Can i park my car with you when I pick up the Rv?
We can allow for one car to be parked with us for the duration of your rental. Please let us know in advance if you will be leaving a car. Although you will be parked in a secure location, we cannot assume any risks related to a car you park with us.
are pets allowed in the rv?
Generally No. Pets like to mark new territories. We don't want our motor homes to be one of these new territories. :) However, in certain circumstances, we have made exceptions and required additional deposit.
what if i return before the date is due?
Unfortunately, no refunds can be made for early returns or late pick ups.
what are your hours?
Our hours are 8am - 6pm. We'd be happy to field your calls during that timeframe. However, if it's an emergency, please call us anytime and we'll do our best to help resolve the problem.
On your return day, please ensure you've dropped off the vehicle by 12 noon. Pickup times are between 3pm and 5pm on your departure day. We can try to get you out earlier on your departure day, but that will depend on whether there was a rental ending that day. We need time to ensure the RV is ready for your rental and any issues are resolved.
what if i have to cancel my reservation after the down payment is paid?
You may cancel your reservation up to 30 days prior to the departure date and you will be refunded your reservation down payment. With less notice you will forfeit the down payment.
can i tow a car or boat?
The motorhomes are only equipped with a receiver hitch, so you would need to provide your own tow bar. No towing apparatus or hook-up services are provided under any circumstances. Customer must declare intention to tow prior to departure and warrant that towing weight is within 2,500 lb. tow weight restrictions. A daily towing charge will be imposed. Zinfinity RV provides no collision or liability coverage for damage to the towed object or for third- party injury inflicted by the towed object, under any circumstances.
Note that tow ratings change with altitude. If you're headed into the mountains, tow ratings decrease.
do i need a special drivers license?
No. Your state issued drivers license is sufficient.
what if i break down on the road?
Call us first. We will help make arrangements for the repair or replacement as needed to help you get on your vacation again as soon as possible.
One of the reasons we only rent low mile, new vehicles is to minimize the chance that this occurs. So far, none of our renters have ever been stranded.
are there places close by to get gas & dump the tanks?
Yes, there is a Pilot truck stop on Hwy. 52, within a 1/4 mile of the RV storage center. Ferrell Gas is on 117th street and has propane, however, we will have a full tank for you when you leave. There is a dump station at the city garage in Rosemount, which is around 4-5 miles away and can be located on the website list provided in the RV Important Documents folder.
Do you have any minimum night restrictions?
Yes. During our peak rental season, (Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend), we have a four night minimum.
Outside of the peak season, we have reduced the requirement to a three night minimum rental.
Does the rv come with pots & pans?
Are we allowed to travel to canada?
US residents renting our RVs may enter Canada and return to the US without problem. However, Canadian residents are not allowed to rent a US registered vehicle in the US and enter Canada. Residency is based on the primary renter.
Note that since 2009, US residents travelling to Canada NEED PASSPORTS or the passport card. That means everyone travelling in the RV needs proper documentation.
Are we allowed to travel to mexico?
No. We do not allow travel into Mexico.
CAN I CHECK OUT THE RV IN ADVANCE?
Yes! Absolutely. We're located in Inver Grove Heights, MN and would be happy to meet you to show you the quality of the vehicles before you make the rental commitment.
is there a limit to number of people in the rv?
Our motorhomes can comfortably hold a family of 7 or possibly 8 if you have younger children.
We want your experience to be enjoyable and safe. Thus we like to stay within these guidelines.
Zinfinity RV recommends the following:
Never exceed the maximum capacity as posted in the actual vehicle you will be using. Maximum capacity includes the vehicle, all fluids, all occupants and their gear. All passengers should use the provided seatbelts. The total number of seatbelts will vary according to the vehicle and according to the floor plan of the actual vehicle you are using. Child safety seats should be used where applicable. the installation and use of these seats should follow the recommendation of the child seat manufacturer. Overhead areas designed only for sleeping should not be occupied while the vehicle is in motion. The vehicle should be properly secured prior to travel. This includes locking the doors and dead-bolting them where applicable. Secure the outside compartments. We ask that you use good judgment in your decisions.
You Are Required To Comply With Applicable Law
how clean does it need to be on the interior and exterior?
We expect that the RV will come back to us exactly as it left. We will do a walk through with you so that you can point out any flaws (if applicable). You may choose to pay the extra fees if you would rather not do that. They are listed on the Rental page. Clean on the exterior means that there are no bugs/dirt/tar and that it is overall clean. The inside should be cleaned thoroughly and floors swept while the sliders are out so as not to get a 'surprise' when they are opened. There is a broom that will go with you to keep this clean as well as a mini vacuum cleaner for the carpet under the table. Please make sure to clean any spills as soon after as is possible to avoid any stains.
how much does it cost to stay in a campground with full hookups?
Campground rates vary based on time of year and what facilities they offer. Generally you can expect to pay between $35 and $70 per night. Our motorhomes accept 30 amp electrical service, so when booking, you'll want to request this level of hookup to fully use RV electricity.
what constitutes a rental day?
Similar to a hotel, the Rental Day is based on number of nights the vehicle is used. Each night constitutes a rental day.
why Do I need extra insurance or a binder? don't minnesota laws stipulate my auto policy is coverage enough?
Short answer is, No. Yes, Minnesota insurance laws do stipulate that your auto insurance policy is required to provide coverage for rental vehicles. (Minnesota Statute § 65B.49) However, recreational vehicles are explicitly excluded from the requirement. (MN Statute § 65B.49 subd. 5a). So, although many policies do in fact provide coverage, there's no mandatory requirement. The binder we ask for makes it explicit that your auto policy will be the 1st payer in case of an incident. Without the insurance binder, SLI insurance is required.
Can I return on the weekend?
Yes! A perk of renting with ZinfinityRV is that we will accept your returns on the weekend. This means you effectively save a rental day or two in many cases.
